In 2000, there were approximately 35 million people being 65 years old or older in the United States. This population is expected to reach over 71 million by 2030. Phil Stafford is a native of Colorado Springs. After graduating from Air Academy high school, he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from UCCS, and his MBA from the University of Phoenix. Further education consisted of an Advancement Certificate In Gerontology from UCCS (both in 1996 and again in 2015), a designation from the National Home Builders Association as a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), and a Certified Environmental Access Consultant (CEAC).
With over 20 years experience in medical equipment sales and management, the need was apparent to form Independent Home Living, LLC in 2009.
Currently the President of the Senior Resource Council. A membership organization serving seniors in the Pikes Peak Region.
